Weather watch in eastern Atlantic.

| Storm Report 2021

From west to east:

Disturbance Twenty Seven has formed overnight centred 900 miles north by east of the mouth of the River Amazon, tracking slowly west-nor’west. On this heading, the low is expected to pass near or over the Virgin Islands/ Puerto Rico area early next week, by which time a development window may open up. Regardless of development, this is gathering water and is likely to be a rainmaker

Disturbance Twenty Five is now some 300 miles west-nor’west of the Cape Verde Islands moving to the northwest at just 5 knots. This will move to the northwest over the next day or two over the eastern Atlantic where dry air is still hampering cyclone development.

Surprisingly early, the professional agencies have recognised the developing low pressure cell we reported on yesterday. Disturbance Twenty Six is crossing the coast of southern Mauretania into a sand free area where warm water is going to give this a shot at developing. Early days but one to watch.

Stand easy.
