Interest waning on Atlantic development

| Storm Report 2022

Disturbance Eighteen is ashore in Central America now and off radar. Bit of a disappointment for the Canadian guy who had this down as a tropical storm, although not such a disappointment to the rest of us.

Disturbance Twenty One is now centred around 800 miles west-sou’west of the Cape Verde Islands moving a tad north of west at 15 knots. Whilst the sand barrier seems to have eased on the convergence zone, there is a belt of upper level shear which may put the brakes on this developing as it curves towards the northern Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico over the coming weekend. Early days of course but this seems to have lost some of the interest it produced as it was leaving the African coast.

Stand easy.
